Although this is a small addition to android OS, it gives some useful information about the apps with heavy power usage and helps to save the battery. This feature may be refined in future android releases.

3. Elegant Live Wallpaper Setting

Previously with Android Nougat, the Search Giant unveiled inbuilt Live wallpapers feature. But till now, users had to use stock live wallpapers for both lock screen and home screen. Now Google introduced a refined live wallpaper setting with Android 7.1.2.

The new live wallpaper setting can be applied for stock live wallpapers and also downloaded live wallpapers apps from playstore.

4. Network indicator in status bar

The Network indicator in status bar when in Roaming is minor refinement of the Android 7.1.2 Nougat update. Previously, Android don’t display the type of Network connection (like LTE, 3G, Edge) when the network is in Roaming. Now in Android 7.1.2, Google made some changes to the network icons in status bar. So the refined Status bar of Android 7.1.2 displays both Roaming icon and type of network with Signal icon separately.

5. Bug Fixes

It is already known that Pixel and Nexus devices which have upgraded to Android 7.1.1 Nougat suffered from the Bluetooth bug. But some upgraded Pixel and Nexus 5X and 6P devices are showing quick battery drain and wrong battery calibration after updated to Android 7.1.2. Tech experts are saying that these issues will disappear automatically after a few days.

6. Enhanced Notification Stability

Previously with Android Nougat and Android 7.1.1 updates, Google improved Notifications and quick setting toggles much. With the latest update, the Search giant brought another refinement to Notifications.

In the Android 7.1.2 change log, Google mentioned about the increased notification stability. So notification stability has improved in Android 7.1.2 Nougat. Probably due to this refinement, notifications appear quickly and also smoothly in Android 7.1.2 devices. More details about this refinement will be revealed soon.

Fingerprint sensor bug is the major problem of Android 7.1.2. In some of the upgraded Nexus 5X, 6P and Pixel devices Fingerprint sensor is not working to unlock the device. But swipe down on fingerprint sensor to see notification feature is working fine on these devices.
